Mwsog & Cadog perform live for a unique, one-off event!

MWSOG are a seven-strong Welsh collective redefining contemporary folk through a bold, ritualistic lens. Emerging from the greenwoods and mist-laden landscapes of Cymru, the group draw deeply from Welsh traditional music, 1970s acid folk, and psychedelic rock, forging a sound that feels ancient in spirit yet resolutely modern in execution.

At the heart of MWSOG’s work is storytelling as a living, communal force. Their music explores themes of land, resistance, memory, and collective identity, unfolding through expansive compositions built from layered traditional and modern instrumentation, driving rhythms, and rich vocal harmonies. Central to this is the commanding voice of Mari Mathias, whose delivery moves fluidly between intimacy and incantation, carrying the emotional weight of the band’s elemental sound.

CADOG" are two brothers, Morus and Iestyn Jones, who play Acoustic guitar and Saxaphone. This unusual instrumentation for a Welsh Folk band offers new energy suggesting a more Pop/Blues and Jazz feeling naturally through the instrumentation. "CADOG" is an "Alternative Folk" band formed in early 2024 before going on to win the Battle of the Folk Bands 2024 competition at the Rhondda Cynon Taf National Eisteddfod, Pontypridd. Since then the band has been performing all over South Wales together including supporting Gwilym Bowen Rhys on his album Tour in collaboration with PYST and Mentrau Iaith Cymru last year.

Support from The Goudies

The Goudies are a South Wales husband-and-wife folk-country duo, known for their close harmonies, heartfelt songwriting, and moving performances. Compared to The Civil Wars and Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, their Laurel Canyon-coloured sound has been praised for its “radiant warmth and authenticity,” with harmonies and raw lyrics that captivate audiences. Featured on BBC Introducing, BBC Radio Wales, and Absolute Radio Country, they’ve played Union Chapel, the British Country Music Festival, and Big Church Festival.
